“Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem.

– Matthew 2:1-2

The wise men came to worship Jesus. Even before they had met or seen him they were prepared to worship the new king. They had faith that jesus was more than a baby – their faith was in him as a king!

And so, like many of Jesus’ followers, they came to worship him. I suspect they thought that all of Jerusalem would be worshipping the newborn king. Imagine their surprise when they find the opposite! All of Jerusalem was deeply disturbed!

Yet despite the lack of worshipping concern that the king has come they continue in their mission to find and worship Jesus.

How often do we as followers of Jesus find that we are in the minority?

When you live to worship Jesus as Lord and King you may find that it troubles those around you. In such circumstances have faith in God, not fear of man.

True discipleship troubles those who do not believe. It rattles the norm. Have faith and stay resolved to be faithful in your worship of Jesus. Keep an eternal eye on the goal of loving God and loving others. KEEP ON KEEPING ON.
