I have been thinking recently about how easy it is to get stuck. Stuck in the negative cycle of what life throws at us. Newspapers, websites, etc all throw stuff at us and sometimes I feel it gets overwhelmingly negative. We can get the impression that there is nothing good happening. Joy 101 is seeking to throw some positivity back at the world.
Part of my motivation for starting this project is that I have recently felt ‘stuck’. Life can get on top of us. Life can throw us a curveball. Life can feel like it’s getting in the way of truly living. I don’t like being stuck – I like to find the positives and that’s what this blog is all about – finding small positives that can bring joy in the midst of our stuck-ness. there are blessings all around us… if we will just open our mind, heart, and spirit to them. My Grandfather used to say “count your blessings”. Well, that’s what I’m going to do through this project – I’m going to count 101 blessings that feed joy.
I am Stuart. I’m a regular human being. I get down and I pick myself up. I’m not a self-help Guru. I like to laugh, smile and see the best in the world. I’m married, have 3 kids, a job and a car. I love to laugh, make up songs and stories, and play the guitar.
I believe the world needs a ton load more happiness and joy – the kind of joy that really makes people FEEL something.
Over the coming months I will be continuing to write about things that feed joy. I hope they will also make you feel joy. I hope they make you smile. I trust they will cheer you up. I pray that they will inspire you with feelings of joy as you smile and reflect on what also makes you be filled with joy.
Feel free to join me in this journey into joy. Share your thoughts in the comments, and respond to the posts if you wish. I would also love to hear some of your positive stories which have filled you with joy – perhaps we will even post them on here as one of our 101 things that make us feel joy.
